WORK LESS WEDNESDAY
WLW #6
📕1. Book I Read On Vacation – The ONE Thing by Gary Keller
I love getting book recommendations from my followers and this book has come up more than ANY other. Now I finally know why. It hit me like a ton of bricks. This is easily in my top 5 books of the year. Go read it.
🔑Key Takeaway: The Focusing Question. The premise of the whole book. Ask yourself this question as often as possible: “Whats the ONE thing I can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”
💸2. Getting Paid $1,000 To Not Check Slack – ConvertKit’s Paid Time Off Policy
ConvertKit has a pretty crazy paid time off policy. They pay you $1,000 to take the week off. But there’s a catch. In order to collect the money you need to satisfy two conditions: you are not allowed to log onto Slack or check your email. Companies are finally understanding the tremendous long-term value of unplugging. No more “work-cations.”
🐦3. The True Meaning Of Laziness – By Daniel Vassallo
🧠4. App I’ve Been Using Since 2018 To Focus – Brain.fm
If I’m not jamming to classical music, my go-to soundtrack for deep work is from brain.fm. They use scientifically proven binaural beats to program your brainwaves into a perfect state for focus, relaxation, or sleep. This is not an ad, just something I love, and use often.
📱5. iPhone Gadget I’m Loving – Lamicall Clamp Clip For Desk
Bought this on a whim for recording my Field Notes unboxing video. It’s not leaving my desk any time soon. This tool is a perfect assistant for recording videos on your phone, shooting overhead footage, and doing Facetime calls from your desk.
