WORK LESS WEDNESDAY
WLW #1
📰 1. Article I Keep Returning To – Personal Leverage: How To Truly 10x Your Productivity
This article breaks down the four steps to personal leverage, what I consider to be the secret to real productivity. Simply put, personal leverage means creating systems to get things done without having to spend your time on them. Since our time is fixed, it’s more beneficial to focus on personal leverage (building systems), rather than personal productivity (optimizing the few hours we have each day).
📘 2. Book I Just Finished – The Order of Time by Carlo Rovelli
This book blew my mind. ? If you’re ready to go down the rabbit hole, this 200 page book packs a punch. Theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli explains how time has no direction, how there’s no real difference betwen the “past” and the “future”, how time passes differently everywhere, and to top it all off, how the “present” doesn’t exist either. Be warned, while it’s written for the average reader, it gets deep. I had to reread some sections to fully wrap my brain around them.
🐦 3. Twitter Thread – 7 Proven Copywriting Conversion Techniques by @helloitsolly
Olly has a website where he Roasts Landing Pages. What does that mean? Olly audits landing pages for businesses and offers actionable tips on how to improve them. He’s done over 500. And he’s learned a lot. In this Twitter thread, he breaks down 7 tips to rewrite landing page copy for more conversion, with examples. If you write (hint: you do), these tips are golden.
💪 4. Quick Win – Don’t check your email for the first two hours of the day.
I’m a big fan of decisions that when you make them once, they remove a thousand future decisions. Here’s one I’ve been following for the last few years: Do not check your email inbox for the first two hours of your work day. They say “Your email inbox is a to-do list created by other people.” If you want to get the most important things done each day, they’re not hanging out in your email. And I’ve never met a work email that truly can’t wait two hours.
✨ 5. What I’m Drinking Every Night – Recess
Recess is easily the coolest packet of powder that you can pour into a water bottle on the market. Just look at their website. Aside from that, it works for me. Recess is a combination of Magnesium, Passion Flower, L-Theanine (from green tea), and Electrolytes to balance the body and mind. I find it to be perfect in the evening. You can pick it up on Amazon or their site.
