WORK LESS WEDNESDAY
WLW #145
👋 Hey Reader!
Sorry I’m late! This is issue #145 of Work Less Wednesday, where I share with you 5 things you should know about, in 5 minutes or less. That leaves you with 10,075 other minutes this week.
🎁 1. No One Wants Design – I Just Dropped A New 7 Minute YouTube Video

Last week this Threads post of mine blew up a bit.

TAs someone who ran a design agency for a decade and worked with over 400 Creative Solopreneurs, I can tell you this problem is pervasive:
- Beginners sell deliverables.
- Intermediates sell thinking.
- Experts sell outcomes.
So I decided to make a quick video about it.
If you implement this 7 minute video in your life, you will:
- Get more customers,
- close more sales,
- and make way more money
WITHOUT having to change anything (other than how you talk about your work).
🧵 2. I’m Bullish On Threads – Why Now?
I’ve been sharing this privately with my clients and folks in my network, but I’m ready to make a public prediction:

Threads had its time in the sun for a few months starting July of 2023.
I was able to grow to 67k followers pretty easily due to their VERY generous suggestion feature when when the launched.
But it fizzled fast and I moved on.
So why now?
Here’s what I’m observing:
- There’s a ton of energy on the app. People are engaging and posting regularly.
- It’s pretty easy to grow on the app. You can go viral without a huge follower count. Lots of opportunity if you put in the work.
- Meta wants it to happen. Twitter is definitely losing customers right now and I think Zuck wants to swoop in and capitalize.
If you are a “writing-first” creator, I would bet on Threads as a discovery platform. It is primed for growth.
If you’re a “video-first” creator, I would still recommend YouTube.
I’m committing to 3x daily posting for the next 90 days.
Will report back with the stats.
🤖 3. If You’re An Expert, Make More Predictions – Quote from Alan Weiss
And speaking of making predictions…

If you’re building a personal brand and/or are an expert, I recommend you make more predictions.
Alan Weiss said it best:
Why are predictions so important? Because people look to the assertive expert for guidance. “Sounding boards” are nice, sort of like arugula on your place – you don’t mind the greens, but it’s not what makes the dish. Predictions are assertive, not passive. And if you’re truly an expert, you’ll be right more than you’re wrong.
Will you be wrong?
Yes, sometimes.
That’s okay.
“People look to and appreciate experts, so you had better get in the game and stop worrying about your batting average. You can’t hit the ball from the dugout.”
📺 4. Make The Best Screen Recordings – Screen Studio

Learned about this one from my client Leon Barth (Founder of BMG.Studio).
While I’m a huge Loom user, sometimes you need a little something extra.
Screen Studio is the next level.
“Screen Studio is an opinionated screen recorder that makes your videos look beautiful. It automatically zooms in on your cursor, increases the cursor size and smooths its movements. “
If you need to record a tutorial, course, product demo, etc. – Check it out here.
