WORK LESS WEDNESDAY
WLW #177
👋 Hey Reader!
This is issue #177 of Work Less Wednesday, where I share with you 5 things you should know about, in 5 minutes or less. That leaves you with 10,075 other minutes this week.
🧭 1. My Latest Substack Post – You Are The Bottleneck.

This week’s Substack is a double header.
In it, you’ll learn:
- How to figure out the #1 thing you should be focusing on in your business.
- Why you’re not working on it (when you know you should).
Because here’s the truth:
Most businesses are constrained more by the founder’s internal bottlenecks than the external bottlenecks of the business.
Entrepreneurs often “know” exactly what they should do in order to grow their business.
Yet they’re still not doing it.
📕 2. Book I’m Reading – The Science Of Scaling by Dr. Ben Hardy

This week I’m reading The Science of Scaling.
I’ve found reading it to be valuable, but not because I learned anything new from it.
I’m familiar with nearly all of the concepts in the book.
They’re all great business first principles:
- Set massive goals.
- Compress the timeline to achieve them.
- Quit the wrong stuff faster.
- Simplicity scales.
But they’re not the reason I found it valuable.
Sometimes a good nonfiction book hits us at the right time and reminds us of our priorities.
It’s my belief that most books people find to be “life-changing” are that way because they hit the person at the exact right time.
When they were primed for change.
So while The Science of Scaling was nothing new, it was the right message at the right time for me.
Often we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.
👍 3. Website I Am Inspired By – The Public Domain Review

One of the sites I’ve been most enjoying recently is The Public Domain Review.
The Public Domain Review is dedicated to the exploration of curious and compelling works from the history of art, literature, and ideas – focusing on works now fallen into the public domain, the vast commons of out-of-copyright material that everyone is free to enjoy, share, and build upon without restrictions.
Not only are their essays fascinating, I’ve really enjoyed their archive of curated public-domain artwork.
I also recently purchased their coffee table book Affinities.
