šŸŽ§ 1. Audiobook I’m Listening To While Doing The Dishes – Principles by Ray Dalio

From the description: Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, shares the unconventional principles that he’s developed, refined, and used over the past forty years to create unique results in both life and business—and which any person or organization can adopt to help achieve their goals.

I held off on reading this one for a while, because it’s 600 pages.

That’s a major time investment.

But when Amazon reminded me that I had 6 Audible credits on my account (can you relate? lol), I decided to give it a shot.

The book is split into two sections.

I really loved the first section, called ā€œWhere I’m Coming From,ā€ which is Ray’s autobiography.

The key lesson I took from this book is that long term success really comes down to one thing: our ability to honestly and accurately reflect on and learn from our mistakes.

I think that’s really powerful, and true. If we can’t accept reality and our shortcomings, how will we ever change for the better?

🐦 2. Twitter Thread With A Course’s Worth Of Value – Top 40 Takeaways From The Part Time YouTuber Academy

I’m going to be launching my (awesome) first course in a few weeks, so I’ve got courses on the brain.

This Twitter thread summarizes 40 takeaways from a student of Ali Abdaal’s Part Time YouTuber Academy.

A lot of gems in here, but I really liked these two Tweets:

1% of the population thinks about creating

Of those who think about creating, 1% actually create

Of those who actually create, 1% keep going

Don’t worry about not being original

Nothing is original šŸ™…ā€ā™€ļø

If people call something ā€œoriginalā€, 9 out of 10 times they just don’t know the reference

ā€œEverything that needs to be said has already been said. But, since no one was listening, everything must be said againā€

šŸ“ŗ 3. Hulu Show I Can’t Look Away From –The Dropout

This show is ā€œlike watching a car crash in slow motion.ā€

ā€œThe Dropoutā€ is about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos.

You may remember her from this weird picture. She’s the blood vial lady.

How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye?

Because she was committing fraud the whole time.

šŸƒ 4. Nature Sounds I’m Jamming To – Chill N’ Sound

I’ve been using this site as the soundtrack to my deep work sessions this week.

It’s cool because you can mix a variety of nature sounds (rain, wind, forest, beach, etc.) to create a custom soundscape to work to.

šŸ“± 5. Anti-Smartphone I’m Thinking About Buying Bought – The Light Phone

This might be the solution.

Here’s what it’s all about:

The Light Phone II is a premium, minimal phone. It will never have social media, clickbait news, email, an internet browser, or any other anxiety-inducing infinite feed.

It’s a phone, it calls and texts. There is a customizable menu of simple tools, and a dashboard website to manage everything. There is a headphone jack, bluetooth, and it can be used as a personal hotspot.

UPDATE: I bought it.
