📕 3. Book I’m Reading – Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
Two days ago I started Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler.
I’ve wanted to read her work for a long time and finally got around to starting it.
So far it’s great (reminds me of The Road), but I did want to share something cool I found while researching the book…
This is an image of the back of one of Octavia Butler’s notebooks from 1988.
In it, she repeated her affirmations.
It’s not surprising that her career ended up where it did.

People don’t realize is it’s actually easier to contact busy people than you would think.
You just need to follow four principles:
- Establish competency.
- Make your ask.
- Be transparent with your self-interest.
- Show extra effort.
