šŸ“• 1. Book I Started This Week – Life Force by Tony Robbins

At this point Iā€™ll probably read any book that Tony puts out.

Here’s why:

ā€‹Tony Robbins’ Priming exercise was a key part of my morning routine for many years.

My wife and I attended Unleash The Power Within Virtual in November 2020 and it was incredible.

I read Awaken The Giant Within last year and loved it.

By now you know Iā€™m pretty into biohacking and health, and Life Force is 700+ pages of the most cutting edge advances in precision medicine.

As a disclaimer, some of the ideas in this book are definitely not mainstream. They may not even be right.

But the gems in here are worth the price of admission.

Harvard Medical School says the half-life of medical knowledge is 18 to 24 months. Thatā€™s how rapidly things are changing.

Thatā€™s why I read books like this.

šŸ“˜ 2. Book I ā€œRetiredā€ This Week – The Lean Startup

When I read 53 books last year, I learned an important lesson.

When to stop reading a book.

I had high hopes for The Lean Startup. It came highly recommended.

But after about 100 pages, I wasnā€™t feeling it.

It wasnā€™t that the book was bad, I just had already been exposed to most of its core concepts.

Thatā€™s actually a sign the book was great when it was published in 2011. Because its ideas have trickled down to me without me reading it.

A sure sign you should stop a book is if you arenā€™t excited to pick it up.

ā€‹The Lean Startup sat on my reading chair for a whole week without getting any action.

So hereā€™s what I did.

At page 121, I ā€œRetiredā€ the book.

I hopped online and read a summary of the rest of the key points, just to make sure I wasnā€™t missing anything good.

Then I moved on.

šŸ“° 3. Article I Liked – Marc Andreessenā€™s Guide to Personal Productivity

I stumbled across this 2007 gem by Marc Andreessen this week.

These three ideas jumped out to me:

šŸ—“ļø Donā€™t Keep A Schedule

Refuse to commit to meetings, appointments, or activities at any set time in any future day.

As a result, you can always work on whatever is most important or most interesting, at any time.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’» Structured Procrastination

Generally in the course of a day, there is something you have to do that you are not doing because you are procrastinating.

While youā€™re procrastinating, just do lots of other stuff instead.

šŸ˜± Strategic Incompetence

The best way to to make sure that you are never asked to do something again is to royally screw it up the first time you are asked to do it.

šŸ‘€Ā 5.Ā Read My Manifesto! –Ā ICYMI: The Work Less Manifesto

The Work Less Manifesto is my philosophy of what it means to work smarter, not harder.

Itā€™s 10 affirmations that define what it means to life a Work Less Life.

Iā€™ve been working on this for the last 6 months and am really excited to finally share it with you!

Youā€™ll be hearing me talk about these principles a lot more in the coming weeks.
