WORK LESS WEDNESDAY
WLW #31
š 1. Book I Read This Week – The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni
I heard Leila Hormozi recommend this book (and Lencioniās others) on a YouTube video.
The format of the book is super weird – itās a āleadership fable.ā
Which means itās like a novel about work, designed to teach you a lesson.
Itās also fun because you find out early on someone is going to leave the team, and itās a mystery to figure out who, and why.
In it, it teaches why teams fail, which is the result of these 5 Dysfunctions:
- Absence of Trust
- Fear of Conflict
- Lack of Commitment
- Avoidance of Accountability
- Inattention to Results
If you manage a team, or work closely with others, itāsĀ definitely worth a read.
šŗ 2. Subscription I Should Have Bought 5 Years Ago – YouTube Premium
I finally just signed up for YouTube Premium.
I think about 5 years late.
YouTube Premium removes ads from YouTube.
I watch a lot YouTube and cringe when I think about the amount of time I wasted watching ads over the years.
It also allows you to play videos in the background, which is great for listening to podcasts or videos while doing chores.
And it includes YouTube Music for free.
Itās also $12 a month and a business expense.
If you watch a lot of YouTube, donāt be like me.
Just get it.
š¦ 3. I Spent $60 For A Box Of Water – Water Tasting Box From Water Sommelier Martin Riese
My wife and I may have paid a guy on TikTok $60 to send us a box of water.
I guess thatās what happens when you donāt drink.
We came across Water Sommelier Martin Riese on TikTok and he sent us 6 bottles of sparkling and still water from around the world, along with tasting notes.
My top 3 bottles:
3. Hildon Natural Mineral Water – The official water of Buckingham Palace – gently sparkling with crisp taste.
2. Aura Natural Gold Water – Still spring water from Romania which includes trace colloidal Gold and Silver in the water.
1. Vichy Catalan – This one was intense. Sparkling water with over 1.2 grams of sodium. Almost like drinking sea water. But extremely tasty.
Got any interesting waters you recommend?
Let me know!

This is what the Work Less lifestyle is all about.
Pick the life you want first, and then design your work around it.
Most people pick their job first, and then their life is the crumbs of whatās left afterwards.
That’s backwards – start with the end in mind.
This quote says it all:
āWhat exactly is a āwaste of timeā anyway? Isnāt everything a waste of time? Isnāt working 50 hours a week for a 150k a year salary so you can buy a shiner care a waste of time?ā
š¤ 5. Quote Iām Pondering – From Copywriter Gary Halbert
āProperly exploited, one good idea that occurs to you while walking on a beach is worth more than ten lifetimes of hard work.ā – Gary Halbert\
I couldnāt agree more with this.
The right idea is worth more than years of work.
In the Work Less Manifesto, I say:
I will not do more, in order to do more.
Instead, I will think more, in order to do less.
